Zine Workshop at ILLIO on March 9th

I feel like I've talked with lots of people in Columbus who've been wanting to make a zine. But I think zines can feel like daunting projects without any solidarity--because when we look around, no one else seems to be making them! But there is an ever-expanding zine culture in Columbus, and I'd love if we could come together more often. In that spirit, I'm hosting a zine workshop on Friday March 9th at It Looks Like It's Open in Clintonville. It'll be a relaxed, fun time--where people can bring their projects to work on, whether they know exactly what they're doing, they need a little help, or they need a lot of help. You can learn new ways of getting creative, or talk to no one at all--it's your choice! If you have things to cut up--like old National Geographics, security envelopes, books with great illustrations, whatever--please bring them! Starts at 7 pm.

Winter Flea at Strongwater, Sunday 2.7.2016

Come on down to the Winter Flea at Strongwater Food and Spirits, 401 W Town St. It'll be going on from 12-5 pm, with 25+ vendors selling antiques, textiles, vintage clothing, original artwork, handmade tools, jewelry, leather goods, records, foodz, and more. The Strongwater bar will be open, and DJ George Brazil & Friends will be spinning jams! I, of course, will be selling a preposterously good selection of books, zines, and other super-cool things. Come on by and check it out! Here's the Facebook event page: Winter Flea 2.7

WITH POETRY reading at Milo Arts, Sunday 2.7.2016

I will be selling books and zines at a poetry reading next Sunday, February 7th at 7 pm at Milo Arts, 670 E 3rd Ave. This reading is hosted by the With Poetry Reading Series--a bi-monthly Columbus reading series that typically features two writers, with each set lasting about twenty minutes. There will be drinks, socializing, and tiny, letterpressed books with a poem by each of the night's readers. Sunday's readers will be Joy Sullivan (Columbus) and Jeff Tigchelaar (West Virginia). If you've never been to Milo, come check it out--this is a great opportunity to see a beautiful, old, weird Columbus building! For more information, check the Facebook event page: WITH POETRY reading 2.7
